The secret
I made the secret, tucked it ink deep into the page of a book.
I regretted the secret, tucked it thought deep into my mind.
I felt the secret, tucked it inside the folds of my heart.
I remembered the secret, tucked ink deep into the page of a book.

Substance
Maybe he was looking for a substance that was thicker than oil, yet also sinks so far that it dissipates due to the pressure. But maybe he was looking for a piece of gold stretched so thin that it was too light for even the air to hold. Regardless of weight of the situation he wanted a substance thick enough for the world to see, as well as a substance thin enough that its intricacies could only be seen like him.

Late
I miss the 3am conversations and the smell of smoke on our hands. The way the cigarettes dissipated into the winter air always captivated me, but not as much as you did. You caressed the tip of my lungs, spoke into my scars and breathed in my demons. I smelled your soul, kissed your mind and embraced your heart. The drag was always shared, but I felt we were always apart. Our sticks burned brighter than our feelings for each other and it wasn’t the chemicals inside the body that kept us alight.
Sleep
It’s the conversations at 4:04 in the morning that you crave because every piece of someone’s shell shatters and all that’s left is their core. It’s usually the simplest questions that baffle us the most and the complicated ones that can easily be answered. It’s also the frustrated yawn, exhaling and silently yelling at your eyes to fight the pull of sleep. It’s being stuck between sleep and awake. It’s the moment you drift off and it’s when you finally reach your solace

Apologies
I'm roaming around with apologies to people when they should be directed from them to me. I shake hands with a clenched fist willingly. I'm tired of sleeping because it no longer fuels me. I send letters in my head to nobody and write novels in a neuron. I tell you I'm sorry when you're the one to blame. Writing this can never show every combination of letters in my head that I have thought. There is no way that there is any combination of those letters that will be the key to unlock the door that leads you to me.
